I had tons of those. Man, what I wouldn't give to be able to find them.

Oh man, I had about a million of these! I remember having three necklaces full and wore them ALL! I wish I still had them. *sigh*

I got so so so nostalgic when I saw these! My cousin and I had a ton! Every day we were expanding our collections!

I had those and I kept them in this binder looking thing that you could hook them into when you weren't wearing them..I think I saw one of them in my junk drawer a few years ago!

I have hundreds of these charms...brand new. I just bought them from a local jewelry vendor who wanted to get rid of 20 year old inventory. WOW

HA! I am WEARING mine today! I found it in a storage tub last week and screamed like a little girl when I saw it...LMAO! So today, we are relivin' the 80's! Girls at work that had them are SO jealous...=0)

Oh..my...gosh! The 80's nostalgia hit me hard with this one. I WISH I still had mine. *boo hoo*. We had some freakin' awesome toys, huh? (All the 80's stuff is back now!)

I have been trying to explain this wonderful piece of 80's nostalgia for years. I had hundreds of these and wish so badly I could have them back! My favorite was a little pink "pencil" box with tiny crayons in it. Oh, the memories.

What were they called though?? That is what I can't remember and it's driving me crazy!! Were they just "plastic charms"? Anyone know??

We always called them "junk necklaces".

I was so excited to see these again. I have been describing these to my daughters and now, they can see them. They were so cool!

Wow! My friend Carmen and I wore these all the time. I must have chunked these in the trash as I got older.

I agree these were the coolest things ever to have. And you could trade them with your friends. I remember the baby bottle actually held liquid and you could squirt it out. What were they called for real??

They were called JUNK NECKLACES (at least where I lived, Ohio).

Aaahhh. Good memories! I had a ton of charms. I remember my necklace was a dark pink color. I wish I still had it.

I had one when I was a kid, and I remember my first charm was a baby bottle with a fuschia top and white tip. The necklace was lavender. My mom would only let me pick out one charm, and that was the one I picked. My favorite one was the abaccus. I had a pink one. I loved those rainbow colored beads that slide back and fourth. I had so many charms when I was a kid, but I lost most of them, or gave them away. Now I'm playing catch up and have 3 necklaces full of them!

OMG!! I LOVED my collection and it was huge! I remember I even had a toilet one!! Did anyone have that one?!! I wish i still had mine - I don't remeber getting rid of them either, but can't find them. Can you still buy them??

I had these too!!! My mom would buy me one when we went down town to the woolworth stores. i had a mass of them

In my town, you could tell the economic status of every girl who wore these. The dirt poor kids had zero, or one they got in a gumball machine. Kids who were not as well off, but still above dirt poor maybe had a few (like myself), and the kids who had two or more full chains were those who came from money.

These charms were 6 bucks a charm were I live. Pretty costly. I got bunch from wishing well for like 10 cents a charm , thry were a cheeper qulaity but they were good enough. There was a girl i my class had a bihnder full of them.

I just came across my necklace and bracelet from when I was young. There has to be at least 50 charms on it. My kids think it's great!

I came across mine the other day going through some tubs in my garage.

I just found mine in storage at my parents house! I counted all the ones I have, and not including the broken ones I threw out, I have 109 charms. I know I have a few more somewhere. I was going to throw them out when I found them. Not sure what to do with them lol! Guess I will just leave it in a bag for now.

We called them charm necklaces. My favorite charms were the baby bottle and the toilet. We were really poor, so I only had a very few charms. I think I had 5 or 6 that I managed to get after months of begging. Most of my friends had a lot more charms than I did. I've bought a ton on eBay to make up for all I didn't have when I was a kid.

I know! Too cool, my cousin found one at a garage sale... I just searched and found that someone saw an original box on ebay that said: Boogie Oogie Funky Chunky Charm Necklace, and I also saw a posting that said the maker is thinking of bringing them back!!!! Doesn't that mean we are getting old, when they start bringing stuff back? LOL

I remember my sister and I would collect these from the Ice cream man, he had them on the truck some of my favorites were the toilet and the bicycle...we loved them

I, too, am buying my childhood back. I have found some cute ones on Ebay. I only have a few of my original ones left. Don't know if I gave them away or sold them at a garage sale... but I am slowly replacing the ones I remember that I had back in the day! :-)

I just hunted mine out of my basement. I loved these as a kid and now I get to share them with my kids. They think there really neat. So glad I kept them.

My plastic charm necklace was my most prized possession when I was 5. So I came here in hope of finding something similar for my 5-year old. I would still have mine but I was mean to the neighbor one day and my punishment was giving her my charm necklace!

I am from South Africa, we used to buy these plastic charms by the bags (i don't remember them being expensive) but we used to take them to school and play a game with them and i don't remember how the game went..but it meant winning and losing charms from and to our friends....the same time that the boys were playing their game of marbles!! I would love to bring them back for my kids to introduce to their friends!

I loved my thermometer that got burned and kind of melted from trying to get a temperature! And the baby bottle, the ping pong paddle, and the racket with the little shoes. Oh and the record!

I had these! I first saw my best friend with some of them back around 85. I had to get them too, of course. We just called them "charms." My grandmother would even get me some from her church's flea market - they would sell them there too. I loved them.

My Company led the way to market the necklace from Taiwan to Neiman Marcus. I still have a couple of the original necklaces.
