Joie, I had Lotsa Heart Elephant also. I loved it for a while but then didn't because I didn't like the trunk. A few years ago, they brought the cousins back with him as one of them. I decided though on not to buy him because I just don't like stuffed elephants very much. I have Cozy Heart Penguin they had out on the market a few years ago.

I have the best story for care bear cousins. I was living in Germany and was in the hospital for 6 months in 1985, from Oct-Feb of 1986. I missed Christmas and my birthday. I wanted Braveheat lion, my dad tried very hard to find one without any luck. So he bought a brightly colored lion puppet doll, drew the picture on his chest that Braveheart had and a matching scar for him, like the new one I had. I still have my lion and the memories.

For a while, I believe up until last year maybe, they were still selling Care Bear Cousin beanies. I don't know why they're not out at the stores anymore or making new ones. They should make a hamster or chipmunk.

My mum found my cozy heart penquin in her loft. I popped her into the washing machine and she's a good as new. Oh bless her.

Oh, I also had the original Bright Heart Raccoon too. I have no idea what happened to it, though.

I found three of these a few years back at the thrift shop. They were the original ones of Bright Heart Raccoon, Gentle Heart Lamb, and Swift (?) Heart Bunny. Anyway, I sold them on Ebay RIGHT BEFORE the Carebear craze took off again. I was mad.

i rember when i first layed eyes on my first care bear. it was on my birthday(:December 25) i say a care bear laying on a table i ran up to and anyoed all the other toys and i only wanted the care bear i didnt want anything else thats all i wanted! so from then on i been collecting care bears!

I remember getting the bunny for Christmas one year. I loved it to death and it smelled like apricot. Why don't they make toys like that anymore? I've still got it after 20+ years and it looks as good as it did then.

I had Bright Heart Raccoon also, don't know what happened to it. :( I always wanted the elephant.

I had Swift Heart Rabbit. My brother got this one for me for Christmas one year. I loved that rabbit.

I didn't have any of the cousins as a kid, but as an adult I began to collect them. I currently have: Bright Heart Racoon, Lotsa Heart Elephant, Gentle Heart Lamb and Swift Heart Rabbit. Certain characters were only made in the UK (like the cat) and are rarer and harder to get. I had always wanted the rabbit as a child so when my husband found it at an antique mall last year, I was really happy!

I never had a Care Bear Cousin as a kid. When I grew up and started to collect dog stuff I went on an online hunt for the dog, Loyal Heart. I remembered him from the movies and I wanted the plush. Sadly I found out he was rare and expensive. Forking over hundreds of bucks on Ebay wasn't an option. I held out hope that one day one would appear cheap on one of the many 80s toy sites I got my Pound Puppies and Wrinkles dogs from. This hope didn't last long as I realized that happening was an impossibility. Anyone who sold these toys would know what he was worth. Thank God for the ressurection of 80s toylines. The Care Bears were rereleased and soon too were the Cousins. Luckily some of the rarer cousins were remade, Loyal Heart among them. I ended up buying the beanie, the Retro version and the new version with the eye spot. My favorite is the retro since he is most like the original. I carry a backpack with a stuffed animal in it where ever I go and when my pound puppy isn't with me Loyal Heart is. Pretty soon he may be traveling with me full time since my pound puppies are older and showing signs of wear. They're still in good shape but Loyal Heart is much newer and will have many good years before I'll have to worry about patching or repairing him.

I have Proud Heart Cat and Brave Heart Lion. I don't know what is with Proud Heart; she's a pretty shade of cyan blue instead of peach, but why am I complaining? Cyan is my favorite color. Proud Heart Cat is one of my very favorite Care Bear characters. I found her at a thrift shop for a dollar. I only like Bright Heart Racoon better than her. She is a bit odd looking (at least, my version is), and oddness is one of my preferred qualities in plushes.

Unfortunately the newly rereleased Cousins crashed and burned on the market. My local Wal Mart had them on clearance for the longest time. Even at half price they still wouldn't sell. I wonder if the Cousins will ever see the light of day again after that. As a kid, I liked both the Care Bears and the Care Bear Cousins. I even had a poseable of Bright Heart Raccoon. But since I became a teddy collector, the bears are the only ones I'm interested in. Still it'd be nice if they tried rereleasing the Cousins again for those who do like them.

Forgot to mention my monkey! I was never fond of monkeys, but I actually like this one. Mine has an odd dazed expression on his face. I know most people just don't appreciate Playful Heart Monkey. My local Walgreens still has a whole bunch of Playful Hearts left over from last year's sales. They just don't seem to sell.

i love carebears to deatth. ive been collecting em for 3 years. since there so old they r hard to come by and the new ones suck

A couple of years ago my little girl just fell in love with Care Bears. So every year now for birthdays and Christmas she gets them. 90% of what is found is from second hand stores, goodwills and friends. She now has over 100 Care Bears and Care Bear cousins. We are always still on the hunt...

I had a zipper-pull of Swift-heart rabbit...he/she was powder blue w/ a red heart w/ white wings on the belly, awww!

I have the original Bright Heart Raccoon :) I also have the yellow sunshine care bear, and I have Secret Bear. You can pull his string and he talks: "I'm secret bear" or "I promise I won't tell" love my care bears :)
