The Digger jingle went as follows: "Digger the dog, digging he goes with you when you explore, just pull his leash and go for a walk, he's your dog for sure!" I remember the jingle so well because I used to tease my German shepherd/black Lab dog (Max, 1994-2006) with the jingle just before going for a walk, since "leash" and "walk" were two of his "magic words" that got him hyper! my brother loved his digger dog so much that he eventually earned the nickname of digger - which he still maintains to this day. we named our puggle puppy digger in his honor - and our little digger dog follows in the footsteps of this beloved beagle toy from the 80's - walking with his nose to the ground and his tail end up in the air...too cute

Had one of these and ended up in the garage for years. My mom convinc ed me to get it to the little girl across the street when I got to old for it.

My uncle tied the string attached to Digger to my grandmothers chiuaua's collar. when she started to walk the Digger followed. When she started to run the Digger followed. She got so scared and was running all over the house, everyone was trying to catch her. When my aunt who had just gotten dressed for work reached down to pick the dog that was running to her up. The dog crapped all over her and her work uniform. My uncle (her brother) stood back with a smirk on his face singing, "digger the dog, just pull the leash ..." I'll never forget good ol Digger.

Like May's brother, I was given the nickname of Digger because of my love for the toy, which lasted until I left my hometown at the age of 25. Those who knew me then and those with connections to my hometown still know me by that name. I wish my mom would've kept it, but it's gone now.

I had a Digger the Dog and man did I love him! I called it a digitty dog when I was smaller.. I accused both my cousin and best friend of stealing it from me...still never figured out where it went!

I picked up a newer Digger the Dog several years back at Bennys store. I am 49 and treasure that dog. What a good toy.

We named our family dog Digger after this toy back in the 80s. I used to sing and play that jingle to him - glad to hear the commercial again and relieved I had the song right!

I have a Digger and have had him since 1975 I'm 44 and have passed him on to my son and now my 7 year old daughter sleeps with him. I sang them the commercial and they just laugh. Showed them the commercial and they love it!

I loved my Digger the dog. Has to me my most favorite toy ever. My Mom was poor at that time going through a divorce but she made sure i had that toy.

I just got a puppy Beagle, so my gf and i are naming him Digger! Good memories of a much simplier time in life.

Kids can be the coolest and the cruelest ... we had a friend at this time who (unbeknownst to us) must've suffering terribly from severe hemmorrhoids. He was announted Digger then (with the full song) and he's still Digger today, 30+ years later.
