Description
A collection of birds that were plastic and had long hair for tails. Some had a furry chest, others had symbols on their chest (like hearts and stuff). This could be described as a hybrid of the MyLittle Ponies - and I remember commercials for this toy that had cartoon birds turning into the toys. Also, the birds came with a pirch and had feet that could clamp around your finger.

Were these in any way related to Lady Lovely Locks? She was my FAVORITE! I know that I used to play with them together. (Whether or not they went together is another story...)
I love these! Eventhough I didn't live in the 80s, I have been inspired to collect them! :)
They were made by Hasbro, who also makes My Little Pony. I see these MIB pop up on eBay all the time. I had one or two.

was it this toy or another that had clip on hair tha you could put in your own hair?
Yes, there was a series of them made to be jewelry or hair accessories. I had the Sunshine Gazebo (birdcage/house thing) & the purple bird (Tea Rose) that came with it. I took her to Hawaii with me...I remember sitting on the plain with her on my finger thinking I was so cool. haha. My parents tried to sell the set at a garage sale years & years ago, but no one bought it. I was so happy :) Sadly I think it was thrown away during our move.
OMG! I had th e purple one & the light bliue one. I also had the little bird cage house. I think someone gave it to me for Xmas when I was about 4 or 5. Wow, I couldn't remember what they were called, thanks!

Oh, I LOVE the Fairy Tails! But I discovered them a few month ago and now I want to complete my collection. If somebody read this and has to sell Bouncy Tails (Fuzzy Tummy = blue with lavender tummy) or UK Variation Fuzzy Tummies = with longer fuzzy fummy) I would be very happy if you would write it!
I had two birds a blue one and a pink one and I also had the Birdcage that was shaped like a big egg... but it wasn't a house...it was a hair salon inside and it had little perches for the birds to sit on while you did their hair!!!LOVED IT!!!!
I had the bird pictured here in the upper left corner (the purple one). These were very pretty and fun to brush.
i remember playing with these for hours on end i wish i still had them now.
I asked Santa for a Fairy Tail and didn't get one. then I went to my best friends house to see what Santa brought her. She got one. I explained the problem to her and we were convinced Santa left it for her by accident and it was really for me. I saved my pocket money and bought loads of these. I used to have them all purched on my dressing table. My favorite had a fluffy chest.
i had a baby one that had a bottle and some tropical one that sat on a palm tree thing...really bright colors. she was my favorite out of all of my toys.
I had the turqouisey-blue one with the rainbow hair. I think it's the one pictured top right. I used to clip it on my bike's handlebars and ride around all over the place. I think my mom actually has a picture of me riding my bike with it when I was 4.

I went through my parents attic and i found the two I had...one is Sunny tails and the other is Tinsel Tales....i have a daughter and i hope she will like them as much as i did.

Talk about sentimental!! I remember having the pink one, I loved her I thought she was so beautiful. I think her feet were kind of weird though. I totally forgot about her, memories are rushing back now. I wonder if I can find one on ebay.
I had the pink one and the white one. I always thought they were a my little pony friend. I don't reacall them on tv, but for some reason I had them. Very pretty things.
I have three (including a baby one)in good condition that I gave to my daughters a few years ago. They love them just as much as I did!

I remember these well, mostly because of one incident. I think I had only one, and I used it one day to try and dim my bedside light so my parents could't tell I was still up reading.... and melted it! I think I'd melted half the hair of the tail off. My mom took me to the toy store to get a new one but by that time they were no longer available. "Burned" in my memory! ;)
