Description
This was a large doll based on the character Fievel Mousekewitz from the animated movie An American Tail. It came out in 1986, and I believe it was sold exclusively at Sears.

I still have mine, although I clipped the strings that were holding his hat on...

I had a HUGE plush Fievel Doll and it was the first drawing I did in pre-school. Just recently downloaded it and watched it.

I got mine when I was 2, and I was terrified of it! LOL! But, I still have it, and it is in amazing condition. He is sitting right next to my Rainbow Brite Doll in my room.

I still have mine! I got him when I was six or seven years old and he was my security toy, I slept with him for a long time. I clipped the hat strings as well but still have the hat! He will always be my fav stuffed animal!

I have three of them.. One has a hand sewed shirt on, with Care Bears on it. My Fave. of the movies,, is Fievel Goes West... but I cry so much,, both happy tears,, and sad ones,, I can never watch it all the way through,, without taking breaks to give my eyes a rest. Few have this much love for Fievel I believe. And of course,, when I watch his movies,, I am holding him. dennystrausserjr at gmail dot com. Fieve... ;-) :-)

My first fievel i got when i was 8. I carried it everywhere. when i was 11 it got burned up in my house. for 4 years my parents tried to find me another one, but all stores were sold out and it was discontinued. My mom wrote to the head of the Sears company where the dolls were sold, telling them the story of what had happened. The man in charge let his wife read the letter and they felt sorry for me and sent me the one from their house that was the first off the line! i still have it. i am 34 now. I will never forget them for their kindness.

StacyL, that is a very touching story, but I have to disagree with you that you were 8 years old. You and I are the same age (I just turned 35), and An American Tail, which is the Fievel movie that started it all, came out in late '86, when we were both 10 years old. There were no Fievel dolls before that. So not to be rude, but I am thinking you must have been 10 when you got your Fievel doll. I loved your story though and I'm sorry your house burned down. I saw the Fievel movie, An American Tail, in the movie theater of our small town on the evening that school got out for summer in '87. It was a nice movie, and I have fond memories of that night - the first night of summer vacation from fifth grade - as I went back to my friend's house and we slept on her trampoline in her back yard under the stars. It was a good movie, but having just turned 11 I was getting too old for cartoons so I never really got into Fievel-mania.

I loved my fivel doll when I was little.my mother had bought it for herself in 86'because she loved the movie. It soon became mine when I was born in 89'. I remember always having it and he was one of my favorite toys. I took really good care of him. Now it is time for my two year old daughter to have it, and hope she loves it the my mother and I did.:)

A friend of mine had a Fievel that operated like Teddy Ruxpin. You'd stick a tape in his back, his eyes and mouth would move and he'd tell you a story.
