Ohhh to funny...I used to love mine with the ribbon on a stick.

I had 2 or 3 Get In Shape Girl sets. I'd do them out in the back yard. I know I had the pink barbells, a jump rope, blue wristbands, and (my favorite) the stick/ribbon. Kids these days could really use toys like this!

Get in shape girl!!! it's so appealing!!! YES!!! I absolutely LOVED i mean LOVED this as a kid...I had the white barbells that had to be about 10oz ea and the ribbon stick thingy!!! I can still hear her voice...w/the guitar in the back...reach right, left, right...almost there...now breathe....

Ha ha! I forgot about Get in Shape Girl -- I had the set with the ribbon on a stick and the set with the white hand weights and lavender leg warmers. One of those sets came with wristbands and a headband. I think I actually used it with the tapes once and I felt so stupid, that was the only time.

Ha ha! I totally remember this! I had a white and pink gym bag, pink wrist bands and a head band and the tapes. Remember how the label would start peeling off of the fabric? I also have memories of playing with a stick with the streamer!

LMAO!! I had completely forgot about the Get In Shape girl set!! I had one too and I can still hear the lady from the ad or video saying "Get In Shape GIRL"

I remember my mom said she couldn't get it for me cause she wasn't working so she had no money for that... well my uncle had gotten a new girlfriend and I hated her... i really did...IDK why but I just didn't like her... well she over heard me talking to my mom about it and so to kiss up to me she bought me every single get in shape girl work out kit she could find... I played with it about a week and was over it... my uncle and her aren't together anymore, but she is one of my best friends.

One of the book/tape combo sets came with instrumental music on the B side. I remember making up dance routines to that music, sounded like synthesizer soft-pop, then I would force my parents and their visiting friends to watch my latest "choreography"

Oh man. Does anyone remember the pink plastic ballet barre that you glued to a door or wall. It also came with a rockin' tutu. Good memories. BTW. A new company has re-released the GISG brand. The toys are pretty cool and the music is just as cheesy. I bought it for a friends daughter.

I loved Get In Shape Girl! Children these days could benefit from activity like that.

I so miss my leg warmers and head band. I would twirl that white stick with the pink ribbon on it. I used to drive my parents and my little brother crazy with those tapes.

I ADORED the ballet version of this! I totally remember the barre that you had to strap around a door and the tutu!! and of course the sweatbands for your wrists and head...

My sister and I used to dance around twirling our ribbons and getting them all tangled up! It was purple satin. I loved it!

I Was Born in 92 and got the barbells set as a hand me down from my cousins. I Still Do It Lots. I Love The Music On The Cassette.

I LOVED this tape as a little girl! I even used it throughout my high school years in the 90's! I miss it! Wish I could find it so I could use it now as it was so easy to just pop in the tape and work out right there in our living room at home. My mom and I worked out to it and I had so much fun and it sure did keep me in shape! They need to bring it back!!!!!

I had some sort of sick with a long ribbon. Lets just say it dident get used for exercise.

I forgot about Get In Shape Girl, I had a couple sets, and I loved them, pink barbells & the one with a ribbon. I am surprised they don't make them still! It was good fun!

I have the ribbon and the tapes and the dumbells. My kid is running around with the ribbon on the stick as we speak :)

I REALLY wanted the one with the ribbon, but I only got the one with the dumbells. I really liked mine!

My grandma's friend gave her two sets of Get in Shape Girl legwarmers from her daughter and we wore them almost EVERYWHERE! We loved them and eventully we got our names sown into them.

I think I had some of the dumbells, maybe an exercise mat.....

When these commercials first aired I thought they were hilarious! But these days, when I look around and see so many little girl -- and boy -- porkers, maybe we should re-release a new Get In Shape Girl -- and Boy -- series.
