Hi Alina. Do you want to get him one to play with or just to collect? Did he have one as a kid? If he just wants a good car to play with I've been reading that the traxxas bandit is the best car for the money. It's an electric rc buggy that I found online for $129 assembled and parts are readily acessible for them and they can take a lickin. The buggy in the picture is one I purchased recently. Ever since getting a tyco turbo hopper for xmas of 89 I have loved those taiyo branded tyco cars. From what I've read though if you want to get him something to really play with and do jumps and everything get him a traxxas bandit because they are much better in every way other than the collectible aspect. Plus a nice hopper these days will bring as much as a traxxas bandit.

He is into the turbo hopper I think it is nostalgia from his childhood. He would like to make a collection of turbo hopper, the bandit, and blaster. I am not sure if he would play with it or use it to collect. I think he just wants them. If you could give me info or if I could get one of your before his b-day that would be wonderful. There isa guy online that is selling a vintage turbo hopper. It's looks like one of the orignal ones from the eighties. I see most of them have that ring in the back wheels and his has the real nobbys. I think the auction is going off in a few days you can just do a search on vintage turbo hopper. i think the name is under super deals or something like that.

had one from toys "r" us ....loved it.. that thing was fast hit a curb broke the tire rod my cub scout leader fixed it...i remember i was soo happy

I have the original Tyco Turbo Hopper I purchased when it first came out. Unfortunately I left the batteries in and to no surprise the terminals are shot. I want to repair it to give it to my grandson, any suggestions as to where I can locate one?
