I had this game. I loved playing it. I still have it the potato doesn't play anymore. I always tried to make sure that I wasn't the one holding the potato when the music stopped.

Whenever I had birthday parties at home we always played this at the beginning until all my friends arrived! I can't believe that hot potato lasted as long as it did. Quality.

My 3rd gr. teacher had an older variation of this. The pot. wasn't soft. He was red, plastic and large. I think his name was Spuds. My teacher was in her last yr of teaching in 88. She had Spuds for many years. We had a wild class of 27 kids and 2 kids got excited and dropped poor Spuds and all his springs/gears popped out of the timer dial on his back when he hit the tile floor! My teacher was miffed. Somehow at home she managed to get him back together but had to use pliers to wound his timer dial. After all those yrs it was our class that broke the poor thing.
