Description
These dolls were large with a plastic head and had an ice cream cone around their necks. They stood about 24 inches tall and came in a boy or a girl. The girls wore night caps and the boy wore a brown overall outfit with a cap. They were stuffed, with rounded feet and their left hand held the position universal sign for I love you. They had yarn hair in pink for the girls.

All, thank you for the thoughts about the Ice Cream Dolls. My family manufactured Ice Cream Dolls in the 80's. Village Toys unfortunately is not in business anymore. As for bringing them back manufacturing ceased on these dolls and there are no plans to bring them back. As for their value you can find them on eBay on occasion. You will have to check there for the prices. I truly hope that you enjoy them, and their memories as they bring back fond memories for us.

My ice cream doll has pink curly hair and the hair isnt yarn its vinyl! It has the exact same body and face as the two pictured but I havent seen another anywhere with curly hair...Is it still an original ice cream doll?
My aunt has an Ice Cream Doll and I really love that doll but she wont give it to me cause her late husband gave it to her. when i was about ten my mom found me a girl ice cream doll and i took it everywhere i went, until my brother got evil and riped the head off. My sister and I both had Ice Cream Dolls when we were little as our father didnt like CABBAGE PATCH DOLLS!! So we were made to spend our pocket money ,(we save for so long for) on dolls i thought were Ugly!!! this year my sister brought me 1boy and 1girl .I'm now 31yrs old and have fallen in love with them :)

I got a pink haired girl on a trip to Wales in 1986, she was about 3 inches smaller than me, and I could barely carry her. She was with me always; my mom even put my car seat in the car so she could ride in it. I still have her.
We were visiting my husbands dad, and started going through his late mother's doll collection. I've always wanted an Ice Cream Doll when the first came out, but never seemed to get it..not even from Santa. So as we were going through his mom's collection, i see this doll wrapped in a see through plastic bag, but VERY dusty! It looked like an ice cream doll, but that was too good to be true. Once we opened the plastic bag, I felt like a young girl again whose dream of having an ice cream doll was coming true. It was indeed a boy ice cream doll that was well preserved in the plastic bag. It was like new! I love my new Ice Cream Doll!!

I had the girl Ice Cream doll I believe my uncle bought her from Taiwan for us many many yrs ago! She wears a peachy colour cap and a pink dress/apron, and a vanilla cone on a shoulder strap! Her hair is light brown made with yarn! I saw the boy Ice Cream Doll being used as part of the store display at Loblaws (a Canadian supermarket) and the display manager told me she bought him a few yrs back from a Salvation Army store and restored him to use as display.. sweet!
I use to be a foster mom and came across a girl we had 25 years ago. She loved these dolls and I found some on EBAY but really had to search hard..vintage dolls, ice cream cone dolls, whatever description it too. Anyway we got togethere and we both started to cry, remembering our time together. So thanks for the dolls and memories.

Hello. I just realized I have an ice cream doll. I own a children's resale & decided to look it up. It has a different dress than I have seen so I am not sure if it is original but it sure fits like it is made for her. She has pink hair but no cone. I just found that something was recalled on her in 1988 - you can check the cpsc.gov web site to check for recalls. I am guessing it was the cone hanging from her neck. Probably a strangulation hazard. Let me know if anyone is interested or I will just put her on ebay.
OK when i was a kid i had an imaginary friend named sister aim. i went on with her so much people actualy started to wonder if there was something there. so for one of my birthdays i got this for a gift and as soon as i opened it i yelled "sister aim what are you doing in the box!" and started yelling to get her out. it freaked eveyone out and they still talk about it to this day.
My next door neighbor had huge ice cream doll in pink dress. I remember a story on the news at the time about kids developing alergies to these dolls.

ellow mellows i too had one of these rather lovely dolls and i just cant think what happened to him he had the big cord cap and dunggaries,and was ssoooo cute,i have found the head and hands set on ebay,you can make the body and stuff it yourself and make the clothes or buy clothes for it.just another idea if you cant find an original.
Oh my God, I had a little boy one! I had it from when I was about five until I was seventeen. I didn't play with it for all those years, but my little brother got mad at me and bashed its head on the pavement and broke it. It went through a lot of abuse. My mom once had to sew his head back on. I forgot all about the little ice cream cone around his neck! I miss him. :(

I was about to give my ice cream doll away but i changed my mind. My mother in-law cleaned her up, then i cleaned off the other marks (pen and texta) with a special plastic cleaner. She loooks like new and out 10 month old daughter just loves her.

I live in Australia, I came across two large 24Inch Icecream Dolls Boy and a Girl, they were selling for $4.99 each ($10.00 for both) they are in mint condition too, escept they haven't got the icecream around there necks! I am looking for what I think is a Ice cream doll for my 14 yr old daughter. The doll was her fav childhood toy as descibed by others it was very large infact so big that when she was 2 she couldntpick her up so she would drag her by the hair. the doll a soft blue body and bald with a long blond piece of hair on the top. I had an Ice Cream doll growing up for about 5 years. My family and I had a really bad house fire in the winter of 86' in Skokie, Illinois and my doll didn't make it. I LOVED MY DOLL with all my heart and she gave me wonderful memories. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters and they always messed with me and would take my doll to either wrestle with it or hide it from me. When my siblings took my doll to mess with me they all ways'd managed to break her head off of her body. So i always had duct tape to put it back on. Sometimes i would use her head to defend myself but i wished i could have her now.

O bought one of these dolls for my girls when they were little (26 years ago) I gave it to my oldest daughter 10 years ago. I will have to see if she still has it.... I got one of these dolls for Christmas when I was probably 3 yrs. old. I don't remember that she had an ice cream cone, but maybe I just lost hers. She was my favorite doll. When her neck broke, I was devastated. My dad used black electrical tape to wrap her head back on, and I still have my ice cream doll with her homemade "neck brace."
Does anyone know if they made miniature ice cream dolls? I had several small little plastic figurines, about two inches tall, all plastic that looked very similar to the full size dolls. Each had a different ice cream on their head. The two I recall were fudgesicles and an ice cream cone.

I have a boy in the box, never played with and then I also have 2 more boys not in the box, 1 dressed in blue and 1 dressed in green. The only one that still has it's ice cream cone is the one in the box which is in green.

Hi, I am looking for a doll (there is an old 1 at my daughters playgroup) and I think it could be related to the ice cream doll. It has large soft body and a hard plastic star in its chest that when turned plays music and makes the feet sparkle. Even though it is old it still smells of strawberries and is better looking than the ice cream dolls and is dressed a bit like strawberry shortcake but is not strawberry shortcake. She has one hand that is holding a hard plastic ice cream (exactly the same as the ice cream dolls) that fits in her mouth like a dummy. My daughter just loves this doll and I would love to get one for her birthday - any ideas???

Found these on Ghost of the Doll and was speechless when I saw one sitting on a shelf at my local goodwill for fifty cents! Here's the catch, though -- mine is PORCELAIN. Her hair is yarn and the top of her head appears to have been broken off of a real Ice Cream Doll (actually found the doll with her hairdo on eBay) but the rest of her head and hands are porcelain. Her face appears to have been hand painted. Her body is plush. Does anyone else have a half porcelain ice cream doll? I'd love to know who made her so I can get her some siblings!

I had a boy and girl ice cream doll and I loved them (especially the pink haired girl). I wish I still had them.
This weekend my brother went and had to go clean out a neglected family storage. It's been untouched for close to 20 years, and most everything in there was ruined by termites, but in a bag they had set out were my two Ice Cream Dolls. I don't remember their names. I have a 4 yr. old daughter so you can just imagine her excitement. We've cleaned them up the best we can, his face is a little smashed and her hat is falling apart. It was nice to find them, they are so different than dolls now. My daughter loves them. Thanks you James and your family.

Oh wow I was looking old dolls I use to own as a girl and I remembered I stiil have my girl pink hair and my boy Ice Cream Dolls and they have their caps and are in mint condition, didn't realize so many still remembered these huggable dolls. They are adorable and were given to me by my brothers.

I have a Ice cream girl doll and today I found her again while moving :) I'm now 36 but remember my sister buying it for me and I loved her so much as a child. Now my girls, who are 5 and 2 will get to love her too. She is in excellent condition with her original clothes but the girls for give her a make over today with some of their own clothes and a head band :) and she has not left my 5 year old side all day :)

I just bought an ice cream doll at a garage sale. Looks fairly new but you can see the stuffing color through the light fabric....is this normal?
Posted two ice cream dolls by j Mitchell from 1983. New with tags. Been in storage and are super nice. Do smell a little of moth balls. But think they will air out nicely. Clothes and bodies super clean.

I remember having one of these when I was little, my mum bought it for me one xmas and I loved it to bits, it had the pink haur and ice cream but it was dressed either like a harlequin or cliwn can't quite remember, can anyone tell me the proper name of it please? Thanks

I have 2 of the 24" dolls-a girl with pink yarn hair, pink hat & pink and red/white dress with pink bloomers. The boy has yellow yarn hair with a white had with red trim, a red/white dotted top and white pants trimmed in the red and white suspenders. They both have their vanilla ice cream cone necklaces and have little freckles on their faces. They are very big dolls and so adorable.
