Description

This was similar to Legos, just more technical and advanced. You could build robots out of a selection of pieces, then wire them to a remote control and compete. Also spawned a cartoon of the same name which did not do the toy justice.

These were one of the coolest toys for me when I was a kid.

Man i remember these....didn't they have like octagonal type connectors? I can remember what the motorized pieces looked like and i sorta remember yellow wires with phono style plugs.

I had one of these sets when I was a kid. I have no idea how my mom could've afforded it, but... It did have octagonal connectors and heavy grey cylinders for counter weights. I remember making an r2d2 (looked more like r5d4) type robot with them out of a large coffee can and a Cool whip container (for the head). Good grief, I miss being a kid :(

I still have the R-2000. I wonder if it works? Hmm. May have to break it out for my boy to play with.

Yeah! This was AWESOME! The yellow cords would plug into a master control. It has 5 red rocker switches to activate the motors clockwise or counter-clockwise. I loved making a crane to pick up other toys, like micromachines heh.

I used to reverse engineer all kinds of motors with rubber bands and those huge tires. Had pieces of the set ALL over the house.
