Description
The Snugglebumms were adorable little hairy troll creatures. They made buttons, puzzles, games, PVC'S,and big toys of all the characters. Their Mom and Dad Snugglebumms were named "Papa Gentley and Mama Brightly". They had big toys of them that lighted up when you squeezed them.
Then there were littler toys of all the babies: Fondley: (two versions, one w/ pink hair one w/ purple), Spritly: (two versions, one w/ light blue hair one w/ dark), Dearly, Lightly, Shyly, Gladly, Happily, Cutely, Warmly, and Princess Snugglina (a bit bigger then the babies but smaller then the parents) She came with a dress and crown and she had long curly purple hair). They also had Snuggle Pets and Snuggle Bugs.

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THESE WERE CALLED!!!!!!! Finally! I had the papa one, it was blue, and it glowed... Man I have been searching forever!!
I used to sit in the dark closet with mine while it glowed. Oh to go back to those days!

OMG i had a blueish greenish looking one and it glowed I absolutely loved it as a child, but never knew the name of it.
I had lots of Snugglebumms. My favorite was the large pink one. I think I'll check them out again on eBay.
Kudos to this site for allowing me to find my old, beloved Snugglebums. I couldn't remember what they were called, so had to check each and every toy by letter. Finally, after so many years of wondering what they were called. I so miss my Snugglebums...!

I had mama and papa and my sisters and I married them one night... they were the coolest!
I got one for my 9th birthday from my grandmother. There followed five more. My Mum gave them away when I was 14. I only managed to keep the little blue one which is now 21 years old and now my little son is shaking it for it´s giggle. I really miss my other ones!

Ohmigod, im so glad theres others out there that remember and love the Snugglebumms family - people used to think i was mental when i talked about my favourite childhood toys and as I dont actually know what happened to my collection over the yesrs, I still have a phoho of me showing off my collection as a kid. Just wondering if anyone had the Big Blu PapaSunugglemumm that lit up when you squeezed him - i had the pink Mama but could never locate Papa

OMG thats wot they are called!!!! Ive been trying to remember for the last 10 years or so!!! The Photo above is one of the ones that i had!! I remember shaking it and it made a noise!
I found one today in a vintage store...the large pink one!!! I'm so happy with it! It may sound silly, but it is youth sentiment...I threw mine away a couple of years ago and regretted it ever since.....

omg my next door neighbor hnad one of these and she gave it to mer it was pink., my mom made me give it back. she was such mean mom. never let me except nothing from no one.
I had the big blue Papa Snugglebum and the little pink snugglebug. I jammed Papa between mybedrails one night so hed stay lit and he didnt light well afterwards.
i had a whole collection of them. i remember the last one i got was pink and came with a carriage. my mum got rid of them one day, i was gutted! my 5 yr old son is now doing a project on old toys your parents played with and i remembered them and went on line! bring back snugglebumms!
I had Papa Gently!!! I always thought his name was just Snugglebum, I never realised that there was a whole brand of them. I got mine around '85 I think, because I remember as a young kid I used to get such a kick out of squeezing him in the dark. Oh I'm definitely going to eBay. 80s toys were the absolute BEST!!
I had a big pink one when I was really little, and used to sit in my dark closet with it to see it light up. I'm almost 30 but I remember it so clearly. At the time I thought it was a pink hedgehog, lol.
I had most of the Snugglebumms and the various accessories for their hair (I remember a pair of cherries was one of these) but sold them all at a boot sale :(
i can remember when i was at infant school and a girl had them in class and my mother asked her where she got it from and i had fondly and moma brightly and the princess one i am 32 now and i have now got papa gently (blue) moma brightly (pink) cutely (peach) shyly (pink/yellow hair) happily (white/purple hair) warmly (yellow) and gladly (green) fondly (mauvy pink/ mauve colour hair) and lucky(snugglepet) and a snugglebug hope this helps!!! but i love them i am into collecting my old 80's toys
I have had mine for years. My Daughter is 3 now and plays with it. Couldn't remember what it was called, so have just had to do a massive search of all 1980s toys! have always had it, just never knew what it was. Funny how you forget! Glad I know again.

I have searched high and low for these. I used to read books under the covers with mine. I think it was the dad cause it was blue. Not very good light for reading but I thought it was so fun.
