I remember them too. They are really cute. I am looking to add to my toy collection but have been unsuccessfull through ebay.

I have the parents (pink and blue) and 1 lavender kid along with their matching brushes. I believe the parents still glow if you put batteries in them. Very strange, but cute toys.

I used to have quite a collection of little giggling ones and the glowing parents, but I sold them at a school table top sale at the end of the 80s! I'm amazed we don't see any on ebay and I can't understand why there's no info online about them considering how collectable other 80s toys like My Little Ponies are becoming.

I had the pink and blue glowing parents, an orange, a blue and a purple baby. Unfortunately, they got lost when I moved house a few years ago. My babies still squeaked when you shook them. I even remember my mum painted a huge mural of them in my bedroom. No one knows what I'm talking about when I mention Snugglebums, but they were one of the best things about the 80's!

Oh Gosh I was looking for someone else who remembered these childhood favorites. I had the blue one and my sister had the pink one. My brother Michael got them for us when he came back from duty in Germany. They were my favorite childhood toy--I loved the way they glowed in the dark when you snuggled them :)

I have two - a lilac one (I think!) and a bigger, purple princess one with brushable hair, skirt and crown - she may have had a wand to, can't remember. They are still in my parent's loft. Is there really a collector's market for these?

I had a pink one and my brother had a green one. They looked a little different than the picture, though. I always thought that I just had cheap parents that didn't have the money to shell out for a Glow Worm. I didn't realize these were a hot European toy. I have no idea where they would have gotten them at the time because we lived out in the country in Tennessee.

I still have the purple one (it sits on my TV), and yes it still sounds like an angry guinea pig when you shake it!! Have no idea when I got it, but I know I must have been small cos I remember my brother trying to chew on it as a baby in 1987! This site is so cool :)

Just been in my Mum's loft and found Papa Gently(the blue one that lights), Mama Brightly(the pink one that lights),Baby Fondly(that squeaks when shaken)and the pet caterpillar Shuffle!

You can find Snugglebumms on ebay - they're snugglebumms (not snugglebums!)

My family got them in Germany as well. we always knew them as knufflebumps. NOt sure if the spelling is correct but maybe that was the German translation. I was so happy to see them listed so I could show my husband. My mother saved the original books that came with them in our scrap books. The one blue boy was leipchein at least in the German. Ours made funny noises. I didnt even know they had ones that lit up!!!

I had the purple one, her name is Fondly and I adored her as a kid. My youngest has it now and has just asked for another for her birthday! I'll have to get searching! :-)
