Eighties Generation

Every journalist and advertiser in the world seems to have a need to label and categorize the current generation that grew up during the eighties. It's impossible. The increase in the size of the minorities and the widening gaps in taste among the members of the generation have led to a generation that follows more than one drummer. A good example is the death of Kurt Cobain. A lot of people were saddened, but a good many people couldn't care less. Why? Rap and dance music is equally popular, and while Nirvana may have sold a lot of records, they still on touched one portion of the current generation. The only thing I can think of, that a wider portion of the population viewed together, would have been the Saturday Morning Cartoons that were on all three major networks (they've all paired their saturday morning programming back since the start of the nineties). Find me a person who doesn't know "Conjunction Junction" and I'll bet they never owned a television set.
