Wow,I couldn't even begin to tell you how much I have fallen in love with the 80's fashion/music/televison shows/people/hair styles..Everything about it gets me syked.I was born in 87',so I vaguely remember them.My mom and her boyfriend have influenced me with them tons, all of her old clothing, the cassette tapes, see through phones, the big solid color jewelry.Yikes,I wish I was born just a little earlier! So anyways,I'm hooked on the music,Cyndi Lauper,my favorite, and the fashion,I've got it down pact.Bright pink tights with the mini skirts, sweater off to the side of the shoulder, high tops, and the frizzzzzzzy hair to the side of the head. One look and you'd think you've been time warped,no kidding. But,anyhow,I Love The 80's!!!!!!!!!!

I was born in '83, so I only remember a little bit of the 80s. I liked the cartoons and family tv shows like full house and the cosby show. these days, there are not as many good cartoons and family sitcoms are pretty much dead. I like listening to 80s music and i have been watchiwng more full house. Nickelodeon was also cool. these days, Nickelodeon mostly has cartoons that are not that good. In the 80s, they had double dare, you cant do that on television and other cool shows. basically, the 80s were way cooler than today.

1976 baby here. Lived, and loved the 80's as a child. What I loved about the 80's? Member's Only jackets, my Michael Jackson leather outfit (I had the black one, with the red stripe), Blondie, Electronic sounding Pop, Rap was fun then, I used to run home everyday to watch (in this order): Thundercats, Transformers, and then GI JOE, oh and teenage mutant ninja turtles and he-man (the original), I had garbage pail kids cards, and the sticky octopi walkers, transformers, and playing Galactica on my Atari 2600, also Donkey Kong and Qbert, then Super Mario, Duckhunt, and Mike Tyson's Punchout, I had highwaters (which I always tried to pull down, they actually sagged, not new for the 90s), and two toned pants (I hated those), all of the kids on my block had fun popping and breakdancing as well as rollerskating, it wasn't as dangerous to play in the streets like the 90s, music was fun which had dances that everyone could do (i.e. the running man, or the electric slide) nowadays there are no dances just everybody doing the booty dance and practically having sex on the floor, Music videos were fun to watch over and over, not bling bling and kill everyone and do all women, It was just fun times, everyone seemed to come together to help one another.

I have so many memories that I must continue? Anyone remember TIC TAC DOUGH, and That's Incredible? How about the Love Connection, and the game show with the Whammy? Then at night i'd watch Knight Rider (my favorite show) remember when KITT was crushed (I did shed a tear when I saw that) and then rebuilt into super KITT with the little wings that came out of the sides?), A-Team, The Dukes of Hazzard, MacGyver, T.J. Hooker, Ohh and my true fav 'THE FALL GUY', I still have the theme song in my head, The Greatest American Hero was my joint too, saying 'That's Fly' was popular, Family Matters, Benson, Newhart, Starman, THe Cosby Show, What's Happenin' and What's Happenin Now, Different Strokes, Punky Brewster, Silver Spoons, Facts of Life, In Living Color was my comedy, I had to watch JEM because my friends watched it, and Moonlighting and Dallas because my mom liked it, etc.... I could go on for hours. I love my Nintendo and I play it more than my PSII, the movies were fun to watch too, except Coccoon and E.T., Transformer movie was great back then, and I remember when MTV played Michael Jackson's Thriller video for the first time, that was scary. I LOVE THE 80s. Now if I could only find an original pair of ROOS with the Velcro, not shoelaces. :)

I was born in 1984. I remember that little alligator on my shirts. I remember a lot of the cartoons such as Rainbow Brite, Popples, Jem etc. I love the music of the 80's (a lot better than these boy bands) Some of my favorite songs are "We Didn't Start The Fire," and "The Longest Time," by Billy Joel.

I was born in 1979 so I got to completely enjoy the entire 80's, and enjoy it I did. What other decade gave us great shows like Gummi Bears, Fraggle Rock, Mon Chi Chi's,(anyone else remember them) and who can forget the ABC afterschool specials. I learned many a timely lesson from those shows. And the music...everytime I hear Abracadabra by the Steve Miller Band, or Africa by Toto, I am transported back to a time when it was cool to wear leg warmers over jeans and sunglasses at night. The 80's were definitely the greatest decade ever! John Hughes movies rule. Gag me with a spoon!!!!!

I was born in december 1969 and that means that my teenage years started with the 80's... Why I love the eighties... well, in the eighties Michael Jackson was stil considered to be a (black) genius, Prince was AN artist, Sting was just the frontman of 'the police', U2 still made real rock 'n Roll, The Cure wasn't in a constant cocaine coma yet, Queen made Bohemian Raphsody and there was Kim Wilde , Blondie, OMD, Shout Shout... Indiana Jones, Back to the future, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, American Gigolo, Frankie goes to hollywood, the pet shop boys, UB42 and Tina Turner made private dancer and Lionel Richie said 'hello'... Also because that's when I shaved, fell in love and had sex for the first time. I Played my first video-game, bought my first computer (Amiga), wrote my first computer program, learned English, Learned French...

I was born in 79 and loved the overall feel of the 80s, especially E.T, MTV, the movies, music, those big belts with the big shirts and leg warmers! Does anyone remember an E.T toy phone that spoke phrases when you pushed a number? That was my favorite toy and I lost it when we moved. I've been trying to find it on the internet but every search is a dead end. I knew that toy existed, I want at least a picture or someone saying, yes I remember that toy. Or better yet someone selling that toy. It was a yellow and red toy phone that had E.T standing in back of it with his arms extended for the reciever. I'm going crazy looking for this toy. I wish I would've saved my toys from the 80s, those were really cool toys.

I was born in February of 1981, the year and the month that Kool& the Gang came out with "Celebration"! I remember a lot about the 80's. Who can forget Pinwheels? That was one of my favorite shows. I also loved Punky Brewster, (enough to have the sneakers!), She-Rah, (enough to have her castle!), popples, my first monster, rainbow brite, a cabbage patch doll, And a care-bear. I have a question, though. Does anyone remember the name of that show on Nickelodeon that involved a mannequin that came to life at night, and a lady would come into the department store every night to visit him? I think there was a mouse on that show too. I can not remember the name of that show. If you can remember the name of that show, please email me at NLSepulvedaqueen@yahoo.com The 80's were special years, but somehow, I've only realized how special they were until I turned 20. I'm collecting 80's music, and reliving my childhood all over again. Peace out DUDE!

I was born in 1977. The 80's were the best in every way. I still remember playing with my very first He-man. I can never forget since it was the time my sister was born. Music, crap where do I start. Although formed in the 70's RUSH was making great music. We had Phil Collins, Michael Jackson(the true King of pop), Madonna for all you pop fans. Metal fans had Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Metallica(back when they rocked), Megadeth, Ozzy(before his cheesy show), the list for both goes on and on. Lets see what do we have now.. oh ya Britney Spears(Lets all ignore the fact that her voice/singing sucks and buy her stuff anyway right). Movies.... The Breakfast Club, A personal favorite(The Lost Boys), Weird Science, E.T., Beverly Hills Cop(probably the greatest comedy of all time), The Karate Kid(Machio kicked butt). I mean truly there is no comparison between now and the 80's. I get depressed just thinking about how crappy things are now. Reagan is 100% better than Bush. In conclusion, the 80's rule.

Thomas Howell fan). I am alson a big fan of I Love The 80s on VH1. I like this show because it shows me all the kewl stuff I wasnt alive to see.

The 80's are awesome...... but the 60's were better! lol i just wish everyone would slow down and just live life instead of letting it live them.I wish tings were still as easy as back then. I mean i dont know but i dont like living this "new age" as everyone says..... i hate it. well but you gotta live!

I remember Zoobale Zoo! That show was awesome! And My Little Ponnies! I still have a huge collection of them, complete with dream castle.

Well I was born in 1965, so the 80's were i guess you'd call my coming of age. I graduated high school in 1983, and it seemed like the world was turning (well musically and fashionwise anyway!)..In high school we wore bell bottoms (still) and preppy and members only was the style. By my senior year skinny leather ties came in, in different colors, and people were getting those greasy jheri curls put in their hair. Also the mullet was starting to come in...MTV came on the air...boy did i get instantly addicted to that. There was NOTHING like that on tv before...They showed the same 10-15 videos all day and all night, and it was ok. I couldnt get enough of watching this. The vids were different and unusual, as was the music. I grew up in nyc, so going through the streets of ny you would go to washington square park, and watch the drug addicts make deals, and watch the break dancers (how new that was) dancing on the streets...to me it was like out of that scene from the movie FAME. NYC at the time was 10 times more exciting but it was also just as dangerous. Cigarettes would cost less than 2 dollars a pack! I remember going to a fancy restaurant and discovering nouvelle couisine...that was the fancy pretty looking food that still left you hungry. That was new in the '80's. ...wow i can go on and on...I have a high school reunion the weekend after thanksgiving, so i will go back with all these memories..proud to be alive...to have lived through AIDS especially!...that was another 80's thing. Walking through the streets and seeing the men and women walking or being wheeled in the wheelchairs, looking gaunt, like the walking dead. Before the cocktail drugs.

The eighties were a fun time for my friends and me. We hung out at the Ritz in Manhattan as well as the Peppermint Lounge. Also hung out at L'Amour in Brooklyn a lot! WSOU was a great station to listen to. The eighties had a good combination of bubblegum metal, thrash and pop music, as well as great alternative sounds like the Psychedelic Furs, Elvis Costello and The Fixx.
