Songs from the Eighties That Have Been In Commercials, Products Beginning with B
Well, it was bound to happen, and it has been happening now for a while,
Commercials bleeding the memory of the eighties, for music. The first one I
remember is "Like A Rock" and then "Born in the USA." Now it's food items.
What's next? I'd love to hear your recomendations. Please limit it to
TELEVISION Commercials though. Radio stations usually mix in background
music with spoken ads by the DJ's and the music tends to be used in both
radio and television versions of most Commercials eventually.

Twisted Sister's,

Used to promote the release of the 2007 animated movie Bee Movie.
Beecham Flu Remedies, using
Elton John's,
"I'm Still Standing"
This was a U.K. ad. I'm not sure if it also aired in the U.S. and/or Canada.
Beechams Fiuplus Flu Remedy (uk), using
Elton John's,
"I'm Still Standing"
The Benchwarmers (movie), using
Twisted Sister's,
"We're Not Gonna Take It"
It's kinda hard to make the song out because film dialogue overlays the song. But you can tell what it is because you can hear Dee Snider singing, "We're not gonna take it, no we ain't gonna take it."
Berlex, using
Twisted Sister's,
"We're Not Gonna Take It"
An ad for PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder).

Very cool.

Never saw the commercial... making a correction to what I see here.
Bewitched (Movie), using
The Police's,
"Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic"
Used to promote the movie with Nicole Kidman.
Blockbuster, using
Michael Sembello's,
"Maniac"
A hamster and a rabbit were at a pet shop, across the pet shop is Blockbuster. Rabbit: Look. Wall-to-wall entertainment. Hamster: You want entertainment? I'll get you entertainment! (song begins playing) Hamster: I'm a maniac! Maniac! (song stops).
Blockbuster, using
The Jackson 5's,
"I Want You Back"
Used in ads for Blockbuster (I heard the introduction for the song).
Blockbuster Video, using
Billy Idol's,
"Rebel Yell"
Something about I think getting more videos. I don't know.
Blossom Chevrolet, using
Georgia Satellites's,
"Hippy Hippy Shake"
This Indianapolis car dealership changed it to "Blossom, Blossom Shake" and the ad featured dancing car buyers.
Bud Light, using
The Ramones's,
"Blitzkrieg Bop"
Since the song was for teens, and beer was marketed for adults, I found this rather irresponsible.

Used in one of the ads during BK's massive 1999 campaign.
Burger King, using
Naked Eyes's,
"Always Something There To Remind Me"
Used to promote the Chick N' Crisp (and I guess the first ad with the "It Just Tastes Better" campaign).
Burger King, using The Romantics's, "What I Like About You"
Burger King, using
Donna Summer's,
"Hot Stuff"
Used in a circa 1998 ad.

Burger King Commercial, using
Modern English's,
"I Melt With You"
This was cool, because I love the eighties. I was born in 1986, so I really did not get to enjoy it as much, but I still listen to the music. MAN THE 80's ARE TUBULAR!
