Food of the Eighties, Products Beginning with L

I've been asked a couple of times for information about what food was specific to the 80s, so I've started a small list which I'm sure will grow pretty rapidly. Cereals of the 80s have their own page.

This list contains items that were around before and after the 80s, I'm looking for stuff that was still popular in the 80s. So this list will contain items that were around in the 70s, and maybe earlier if they were still popular.

Please note! Zima and clear colas were a 90s fad, not an 80s fad! I know it might seem like a long time ago, but that's only because they tasted so awful and were marketed so heavily. (Somehow, Zima still persists, though no one has determined why).

LUNCH BUCKET
The original microwavable pasta and meat or cheese pre-canned in a styrofoam container. Many products have followed suit. They were cheap and were often sold out of hot vending machines. The beef ravioli was my personal favorite.
Laffy Taffy
We all remember this taffy-like candy. Bannana was always my fave! Its still around if you can find it.
Laser Disc Sour Gum
Little multicolored pieces of gum that are incredibly sour then becomes very tasteful. I loved them, never seen them since the mid to early 80's. Saw a wrapper of them on tv tonight on a show called "Unwrapped".
Le Menu Microwave TV Dinners
A round microwavable black plastic plate divided in 3 compartments with various meals enclosed. Usually Llike chicken, rice and a veggie. The plate was reusable. 1985ish.
Lemon Cookies
Yellow lemon favor cookies with a lemon flavor filling. I think that it came out before the 80's; unsure.
Lemon-Lime gum
Another Bubbalicious brainchild. Came out along with Bananaberry, but this kind had neon green lime gum wrapped around blinding yellow lemon. Not quite as tasty as Bananaberry, but pretty damn good. Again, looked great in hand!
Lemonheads
A very tart hard lemon candy thats still popular today! I remember they used to be 10 cents a box and there were some different flavors like "alexander the grape" and "Johnny Appletreat".

They were supposed to be the centers of Life Savers candy. They came in a plastic tube. I remember sticking one up my nose as a tiny tot. (Mom freaked out.) This is one of the reasons why they are not around anymore!
Life Saver Soda
It was marketed as either soda or juice, and it came in more than one flavour. I remember that the bottle was shaped like a Life Saver and had Life Saver-esque rings on the bottle. Oh, and it tasted horrible.
Life Savers Popsicles
Bright popsicles that came in Lifesaver flavors: Cherry, Orange, Pineapple, and Lime.
Lifesaver Lollipops
Lollipops shaped like a big Lifesaver. Only they were usually mixed flavours like cherry vanilla or something like that. They were really good!

Like Cola
In an effort to enter into the cola industry, the 7-Up corporation introduced Like and Diet Like colas. Unfortunately, the colas were rather short-lived.
Lil Abner Potato Chips
Potato chips made from potatoes with high sugar content which when cooked turned the chips toasty brown ,also had a stronger flavor. Made by Lever Potato Chips in St. Catharines Ont. Ca.
Lime Kool-Aid and Jell-O
Yes, BRIGHT GREEN (it was the '80s after all!) lime Kool-Aid and Jell-O were introduced in the late '80s, but lime Kool-aid quickly disappeared, and these days only lime Jell-O can be found.

Dehydrated soup in several flavors...big in the late 70's and early 80's..The onion soup mix has graced many a party as a dip...

Lite & Lively Double Delights
The had cottage cheese on one side and fruit filling on the other side.
Little Caesar's Pizza
Pizza, Pizza. Yuck, Yuck! The main thing was you got 2 pizza for 1 price. The pizza was crappy. It was crazy. The crazybread was horrible.
Little Debbie Star Crunch and Swiss Cake Rolls
I remember everyone had these in their lunches in the 80's. They were *to die for* and if you could get a trade with them that was just great. I used to trade out my pringles for these. They were like Hostess snacks but cheaper. Still made in the US.
Little Hugs
Daily Juice Products in Vernon, Pennsylvania started making these in 1985. They were fruit flavored juices in a clear plastic bottle shaped like a barrel, with a tin foil lid. They came in all the usual juice flavors: fruit punch, grape, orange, cherry, strawberry, etc.
