Food of the Eighties, Products Beginning with misc

I've been asked a couple of times for information about what food was specific to the 80s, so I've started a small list which I'm sure will grow pretty rapidly. Cereals of the 80s have their own page.

This list contains items that were around before and after the 80s, I'm looking for stuff that was still popular in the 80s. So this list will contain items that were around in the 70s, and maybe earlier if they were still popular.

Please note! Zima and clear colas were a 90s fad, not an 80s fad! I know it might seem like a long time ago, but that's only because they tasted so awful and were marketed so heavily. (Somehow, Zima still persists, though no one has determined why).

4 Cheese Pizza
The Pizza Hut 4 Cheese pizza. I was really little and so amazed that such a thing could be done; I remember eating one of these...good times...
7-Up Gold
Canned briefly in the late 80s - remember drinking it in 87. Gold-toned "spice" flavored soda - sort of cinnamon-y.
carnation breakfast squares
a square, layered chocolate type of braakfast bar. I remember there were two in a package. The taste was awesome! It had a sort of carob like taste, powdery texture. Wish I had one right now!
cherry ripe
candy bar from AUstralia. Came in a red foil wrapper, with of course a koala on it. It was cherry flavored coconut dipped in chocolate. A favorite circa 1985-8?
chew man chew
I think that's the name. It's an individually wrapped gum. The wrapper was orange with confuscious (chinese face) on the wrapper and the gum was long and thin and a bit hard. Tasted great but for only like 10 mins then the flavor was gone but I loved this gum and can't find it anywhere, not even sure if it's called Chew man Chew-that's what my roommate calls it.
chippo's potato chips
Potato chips, that advertised, "not as greasy as regular chips,", they would show two bowls lined with paper towels, one with regular chips, one with chippo's... and the chippo's side didn't have the oil stained towel, they also came in a foil line box, ( i think ,like bugels)
general mills breakfast squares
these awesome and tasty breakfast treats came twin wrapped in a foil/paper pouch and boxed in 4 packages (containing 2 squares each) by general mills, i believe. description: 2 1/2 inches x 2 1/2 inches in size, about an 3/4 of an inch thick and came in 3 flavors...vanilla, spicey or cinnamon and chocolate. these bars were dry, layered cake-like, but hard and somewhat "crumby" and were frosted accordingly with the flavor of the square...my favorite was chocolate...then they came out with the variety box featuring all flavors. I never see them and haven't for years. it's my best guess that they were introduced in the mid to late 70's and vanished in the early to mid 80's.
geneva cookies
These are Peppridge Farms cookies that are crisp shortbread cookies with a dark chocolate coating and crushed walnuts on one side.
hamburger helper-taco or pizza bake
you put the seasoned hamburger in the pan and then pour on like a cornbread batter on top and then bake it. When it was done you scooped it out and put sour cream and lettuce and tomatoes on it or whatever you wanted tasted like a taco! Same thing with the pizza one.We had it about once a week in the 80's it was my favorite dinner!!!!
harbor bars
Ice cream sandwich with chocolate chip cookies for the crusts. Very good.
jolly ranchers
These were around before the 80's,but we were so obssessed with watermelon jolly ranchers. You had to look carefully not to get a "fire" flavored one because they were really hot.
koo-koo bars
Neapolitan toffee...yum! Frozen, it broke and you could eat, and in the summer they melted and would stick to the wax paper. Long thin rectangular bars
lipstick candy
Gold wraper on the bottom then take it off and there was the whole thing(lollypop)
oompas
These were candy, similar to large m & m's, except they had one layer of peanut butter and one layer of chocolate inside the candy shell. I believe they were made by Willy Wonka brand.
peanut butter bopper
It came in a purple package with pink letters. In the middle it had peanut butter and covered with chocolate. On the outside i think it was rice crispies.
pot sweets
made by pot noodle, like a pot noodle pudding that you added hot water to.gorgeous tangy peach flavour, and you got a crunchy topping to put on. a very short-lived food which led to frank dee's selling them off for about 5p.why did they stop?
pudding roll-ups
just like fruit roll-ups, only in chocolate, butterscotch, and vanilla. They weren't as pretty as the fruit kind, and didn't last very long. were out in 88-89
seven-up gum
Cherry seven-up gum with cherry seven-up goo in the middle
sun country wine coolers
popular wine cooler that came in 2 liter bottles and various flavors. It came out during the initial wine cooler craze and was actually a decent tasting drink. The label was bright yellow, not sure when it phazed out of popularity.
tacos
toaster french fries
a "brick" of french fries that you toasted in a toaster like a slice of bread, then broke the individual fries apart to eat afterward--about 20-25 fries to a "slice".very early 80's, and short-lived...but good.
uno candy bar
Chocolate covered chocolate cream. When I was a kid people would ask at Father's wrecking yard, "You know that part...." and my Father would point to the wrapper on the wall and say, "Uno is a candy bar."
vanilla cookie crisp cereal
Just like today's cookie crisp, except that the cookies were small and vanilla flavored instead of chocolate chip
zar-rex
this was a fruity flavored syrup that you were supposed to mix with soda water to make a punch for parties. I think you could pour it on ice cream and stuff like that, or you could add it to shaved ice...
